My Less Than Happy Mother’s Day

Posted by on Jun 5, 2017

The struggle is real, people.

On Mother’s Day, my kids were being assholes (sorry, but there’s no better word to describe it.) There was a special program at church just for mothers day and it included a video of one of my kids talking about me. I had been looking forward to it for weeks. But my kids had other plans. They cried and whined and refused to go to their own classes. So I took said asshole children home and totally lost my shit. As soon as I started crying, my kids started crying. And soon after, the guilt set in. Which made me cry even harder.

After quite some time of hiding in my bathroom and feeling sorry for myself (how dare they act like this on today of all days!?) I remembered that they are human. They are MY tiny little humans. And my entire life revolves around them. Without these asshole children, this day would mean nothing. They are my whole world. And my job as their mother is to show them how amazing they are. How it’s okay to make mistakes and be assholes sometimes. But we need to learn from those mistakes. We can try harder and be better.

After my crying session there were apologies all around. And hugs and more tears. But happy ones this time. Just because it was Mother’s Day doesn’t mean I got to stop being a mother. It’s the best job I’ll ever have. Even if it is the hardest.

Happy late Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Even the ones who lost their shit. Especially those ones.

Lock Away Wetness With Luvs + Save with Coupons! #SharetheLuv

I don’t know about you, but this time of year is full of magic for me. Flowers are blooming, kids are outside, and laughter is plentiful. It’s a wonderful, fun filled time of year for our family, but it’s also stressful. There are outings to plan, homework to finish up, and tantrums to quell as we approach the end of the school year. One thing I do not want to be stressed about is my daughter’s diaper. Because, yes, she’s still in diapers. Sigh.

I’m a huge fan of Luvs. They are less expensive (woo hoo!) and a high quality diaper. I have tried A LOT of diapers and Luvs is by far the best diaper for the best price. I have never had leak issues, rashes, or any other problems with them. And who doesn’t love the Ultra Leakguard Guarantee. If you aren’t satisfied with the way Luvs works, you get your money back. So, you can feel good knowing you have premium leakage protection for less than those pricier brands. That means less stress and more time and money for having fun and enjoying all this beautiful time of year offers.

Luvs with NightLock offers its largest absorbency area EVER to help lock wetness away! That means less leaks during the Spring season for baby and more time for parents to enjoy the outdoors. The LuvsLeak Barrier Leg Gathers and the Leakguard Core help to keep clothes and baby dry and wetness stays where it should. Who wants to add to their stress by worrying about leaks and having clothes to change your little one into? No one, that’s who.

Plus, keep an eye out for this Sunday’s newspaper (April 30, 2017) for an insert with a Luvs coupon offering $2 of any one diaper pack and a $1 print-at-home coupon. Use these coupons at any mass, discount or grocery store where Luvs Diapers are sold.

That Paint Thing – So Fun & Totally Worth it!

Posted by on Apr 24, 2017

Have you heard of That Paint Thing? I’m sure you have. Or some version of it. I’ve been wanting to go for forever. But I was a little hesitant since I have ZERO artistic ability. I mean none. I’m pretty good at stick figures, but that’s about the extent of my skills. But I finally decided to bite the bullet and give That Paint Thing a try. Even if I did a horrible job, at least I would have a night out with some of my favorite people, right?

I LOVED it! The instructor is fun, upbeat, very informative, and makes things feel do-able. She takes you through each step of the process, one by one, to create your masterpiece.

That Paint Thing is your LADIES night, DATE night, or FUN night destination. We have teamed up with Leatherby’s Family Creamery, Waffle Love and Brick Oven to offer an atmosphere of creativity and fun. This means we are combining painting, music, and prizes with amazing Leatherby’s Ice Cream, delicious Waffle Love creations or your choice of a tasty menu item at Brick Oven. Menu choice at Leatherby’s or Waffle Love catering included with your reservation.

When you get there, you will check in and find a seat. At your seat it will look something like this:

A blank canvas with the brushes and paints you will need. Depending on your location, a server will come get your food order and you will wait for everyone to show up. Once they do, the fun begins!

You will be guided through the steps to complete your masterpiece. You can see the end result as well as one that the instructor is painting as you are so you can see more clearly what to do. There are short breaks in between some of the steps so you can grab bites of your food or use that time to catch up on your painting (That’s what I used almost all of the breaks for.)

The only thing I would change is getting food. In the future, I would just go to the venues that don’t have food during the event. There just wasn’t enough time to really dig in while painting. So my food was just in my way and my ice cream ended up as a big, sad, puddle.

I love how every painting turns out differently. We all did things that were a little off from the others. Some had birds, some had more flowers, or more red, some had bigger mountains, some a brighter sun. It was great! I will absolutely go again. And every single person that went with me said the same thing. It was absolutely worth the price and time!

Plus, they are offering kids Summer camps right now! So fun!

Adorable BRIO Toys Perfect For Any Occasion!

Posted by on Apr 17, 2017

I remember as a young girl asking my mom for a puppy for my birthday. And, well every holiday. Because what little kid doesn’t want her own puppy, right? Now as a mom with a daughter I can see the days of the puppy headed my way. While our family is not quite ready to jump down that rabbit for a third time (losing our other dogs was pure heartache). Enter these adorable BRIO toys.

The BRIO Large Dachsund is perfect for the dog lover in your life.  And, basically for all the kids in your life. My 3, 8, and 10 year old all absolutely love it. My only problem? We only own one. So there is a bit of fighting over who’s turn it is.

The BRIO Light & Sound Firetruck is perfect for your little preschooler. It’s super easy to use and little hands can navigate everything by themselves. It comes with the train, wagon, and driver with moveable arms and legs. This little truck will entertain your preschooler for hours. And the only sound you are likely to hear? Giggles and Squeals!

And for the toddler in your life? Yep. There is something for them too of course! The BRIO My First Bring Along Railway Set will take you back to your childhood while still entertaining your own children. I absolutely ADORE this little set and it is now my new favorite baby shower gift.

And for the bigger kids? Of course there are options for them as well! The Krazy Wordz game from Ravensburger was a HUGE hit with my older boys. And not only them, but the adults as well. We had so much fun playing it and my kids are begging me for another game night so they can pull it out again.
