Posted by on Jul 18, 2017

Ali from Rise & Shine Permanent Cosmetics is offering an amazing deal to Mamas on a Dime readers! Just let Ali know you heard about her from us and you can save half price on all services!

  • Eyeliner (Both Eyes) $300 $150!
  • Eyebrows (Both Brows) $300 $150!
  • Lip Fill $400 $200!
  • Lip Liner $175 $87.50
  • Beauty Mark $45 $22.50

If you have looked into getting permanent makeup before, you know just what an amazing deal this is. And this deal includes one FREE touch up, PLUS $35 touch ups for life!

I had Ali do my eyeliner last week and I couldn’t be more pleased. The whole process takes about two hours. But your eyes have been numbed and you are relaxed the whole time. Ali is great at letting you know what to expect and exactly what she is doing at each step. They took a couple of days to get used to, but now I’m in love. I love how much prettier I feel without every putting on a stitch of makeup! I know you will love yours too!

  • Here is a step by step of the whole process. Ali had me wear my regular eyeliner to my appointment so she could see just how I like it and there was no guesswork. I think cleaned off all my eye makeup, laid down on a comfy table and closed my eyes. Ali then put on some numbing cream and chatted with me while it took effect. There was no awkward waiting. No wondering what was coming next. None of that weirdness. Ali totally made me feel at ease every single step of the way!
  • Then Ali brought out the needle. Needle? Honestly I don’t even know. I never really saw it. But there was no pain. Zero. The numbing cream did its job and since Ali doesn’t use a machine there were no creepy noises to weird me out. Ali did her thing while making sure it never hurt me and in no time it was over. The most uncomfortable thing for me for me was having my eye slightly open part of the time so she could get the ink where it needed to go. I desperately wanted to close my eyes. Ha! But, that’s it! Ali told me how to treat my eyes for the next few days, let me know about follow ups, answered any questions I had, and I was on my way.

Below you can see my before and after pics. They aren’t the greatest pictures ever since I took them myself, but you can get an idea of just how awesome your new makeup can look. Keep in mind, I’m not wearing any makeup at all in either picture. There are also more pictures on the Rise & Shine Facebook page.

Next up? Eyebrows! I will totally be giving you the low down on that one too!

Are Season Passes & Family Memberships Worth It?!

Posted by on Jul 6, 2017

Season passes and family memberships seem to be the norm around here. Everyone seems to have at least one. But are they worth the money? I looked at A LOT of options and prices to answer just that question. My answer? Maybe.

Price matters. No question there. But also location and how often you will use the pass. Most of the passes seem to be about the price of three regular visits. So if you plan on using your pass or membership more than three times in the year you have it, then it’s definitely worth it. Go every weekend and you have more than justified the cost.

Bottom line? Do your research: Make sure the cost is worth the benefits for YOUR family. What works for mine, may not work for yous.

That being said, check out some of my favorites:

  • Cherry Hill: A season pass is priced at $89.95 per person at this waterpark. Prices tend to be lower before the season starts. A single visit starts at $21 for the water park. So you will need to visit more than 4 times to make it worth the price. You can also opt for the King of the Hill season pass for $114.95. This one includes the water park, mini golf, jungle maze, Aeroball, Hamster Haven, BattleStar Blasters, The ROCK and Junior Jungle Boats. This one seems like a way better deal in my opinion.
  • Cowabunga Bay: A season pass is regularly priced at $109.99, but if you wait until the end of the season and buy for next year, you will only pay $64.99! This is a killer deal and you won’t want to wait! Go just 4 times and you have made it worth your while.
  • Discovery Gateway: A family membership (1 adult + 5 guests) is $150. A single visit is $9.50. So a family of 6 would need to go 3 times to be worth it. If your family is smaller, you would need to visit more often to be worth the price.
  • Hogle Zoo: A family membership (2 adults & all dependent children) will set you back $149. So, again, it depends on the size of your family. A family of four would need to go 3 times to make the membership worth it. If your family is bigger it would be worth your while much faster. I prefer to purchase the Zoo Booster membership so I can always get 2 extra people in for free. I’m much more likely to go if I can bring people with me.

aquarium

  • The Living Planet Aquarium: Visit the aquarium just 3 times and you will have justified a family membership (2 adults & 4 children) to the Living Planet Aquarium since it is priced at $189.95.
  • Thanksgiving Point: The price for a family membership here (2 adults & dependent children) is $220. But it includes all four Thanksgiving Point venues. Just visit each venue ONCE with a family of five and you have made that membership worth your while.
  • Red Butte Garden: This place is gorgeous! Plus, you can get a family membership (2 adults & 6 children) for only $75. If you have just a family of four you will make the membership worth the price in just TWO visits!

There are tons of other places to get a membership or season pass. Just make sure to do your research before you buy. What are some of YOUR favorite places to have a membership?

10 Simple and Low Cost Saint Patrick’s Day Ideas!

Deals of the Week

Here are my top deals of the week as featured on Good4Utah today. Make sure to tune in next Thursday for the new deals! And check back here every day for all the other great deals you can score. Plus, make sure to enter to win a Cinemark Prize Pack!

One of my favorite holidays is Saint Patrick’s Day. I love that you can do as little or as much as you want and it is absolutely perfect! There is no stress or pressure like on some of the other holidays. That being said, here are some of my favorite Saint Patrick’s Day ideas, crafts, and traditions.

  1. Green food coloring: This is an absolute MUST for this holiday. You can use it for so many different things. We use it to color our milk, make green pancakes or any other food, and sometimes to color our toilet water green.
  2. Lucky blocks from Heartfelt Wall Hangings: Heartfelt Wall Hangings has SO many adorable crafts at amazing prices. Snag these LUCKY blocks in a kit for just $5.50!
  3. The Lucky Leprechaun Hunt: Print this hunt or make your own! It’s super easy and you can do it with stuff you already have at your house with absolutely no preparation (my favorite) or hide the items for them to find beforehand.
  4. The Night Before Saint Patrick’s Day: We absolutely love The Night Before books and this one is just as good as the rest! It’s a must to read the night before.
  5. Rainbow & Pot of Gold craft: Another easy craft that is crazy cute. One of the amazing preschool teachers at my daughter’s school does this with her class and they LOVE it. Frankly, so do I.
  6. Saint Patrick’s Day Would You Rather: Such a fun, silly way to enjoy the holiday. Answer questions like Would you rather catch a leprechaun or have a pet unicorn? Plus, it’s a FREE download.
  7. Green treats: Our family leprechaun always leaves a few green treats at our house. Usually a can of Sprite and some kind of green candy. If you don’t want sugar you can do a green apple and colored milk or something similar.
  8. Silly Leprechaun Tricks: When the leprechaun visits our house he plays silly tricks. They are never harmful or malicious and they are always easily cleaned up. Usually just things like leaving all the cupboard doors open, switching which drawer pants and socks are in, or turning couch cushions upside down. My kids think this is hilarious.
  9. Green Hair Spray: If you want to add a little extra green to your ensemble you can grab some green hair spray. Of course I grabbed it when it was on clearance after Halloween. That’s just how I roll.
  10. Set a Leprechaun trap: Who DOESN’T want to catch that silly leprechaun? It’s so fun to set a trap to see if you can catch that pesky little guy. We try to lure him in with gold or treats with some kind of spring to trap him when he picks them up. Sadly, we’ve had no luck so far. But that doesn’t mean we won’t keep trying!

Deals of the Week

Here are my top deals of the week as featured on Good4Utah today. Make sure to tune in next Thursday for the new deals! And check back here every day for all the other great deals you can score.

It’s my son’s favorite time of year: Superbowl Sunday is fast approaching. That means time for friends, family, fun, and, of course, FOOD!

This is a recipe that someone makes every year we get together. It is delicious, crazy simple, and can be eaten all day long. Which may or may not be a good thing. And the best part? It will cost you only $6.71 to make!

Pizza Dip

2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, cubed
1 can (15 ounces) pizza sauce
1 package (8 ounces) sliced pepperoni, chopped (I only sometimes add this in)
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
Bagel chips or garlic toast or English muffins or Ritz crackers

Place the cream cheese in a 3 quart slow cooker. Combine the pizza sauce, pepperoni and any other pizza toppings you like; pour over cream cheese. Top with mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook on low for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the cheese is melted. Stir; serve warm with bagel chips or Ritz crackers or spread on English muffins as an open face sandwich. This recipe was originally posted on Dancing in the Kitchen with Jonnie and Boan. Check them out for tons of other yummy and easy recipes!
